Pimpama Junction Shopping Village opened recently with a cultural centerpiece in the form of a dramatic sculpture welcoming visitors to its main entrance.

Commissioned by Scott Spanton, CEO of developer Tipalea Partners through Cultural Capital, the stainless steel sculpture The Script by artist Robert Hague stands five metres high and is loosely based on the idea of a script caught by the breeze, its individual sheets fanning out as it flies.

The sculpture works as a foil to the shopping village, drawing the eye up toward the sky and emphasising the open theme of the centre’s architecture

Cultural Capital took us on an exciting and enjoyable journey, from a shortlist of suggested artists through to an even shorter list of favourites based on their style of work, through to visiting the preferred artist in their studio and finally the delivery and commissioning of the sculpture on site.
