We are delighted to announce that Cultural Capital has been appointed as the curator for the Wynyard Walk project (working title ‘Wynscreen’). When Wynyard Walk opens in late 2016 it will provide a fully accessible pedestrian link between Wynyard Station, Barangaroo and the CBD’s developing western corridor.
Within Wynyard Walk, Transport for New South Wales has created a unique opportunity to showcase new media art in a compelling public setting with a screen dedicated to showing commissioned artwork. We anticipate that the project will be eagerly embraced as a dynamic exhibition site for exemplary media art.
Cultural Capital’s consultant Curatorial Director for this project is Alessio Cavallaro, widely recognised as a leading figure in electronic arts in Australia as an artistic director, creative producer and curator of innovative film, video, new media and sound arts. Hai Tran has been engaged byCultural Capital as Technical Director for the project. His experience spans the breadth of creative & technical projects across the world. Project credits include multiple Olympics Games, World Expo and Vivid Light here in Sydney.
Artistic innovation, cultural context and audience engagement will be at the core of works by internationally renowned and emerging Australian artists to be rigorously curated by Cultural Capital for Wynscreen in this new landmark public space.
