Cultural Capital was engaged to prepare a Public Art Plan for the Sydney Football Stadium Redevelopment. Cultural Capital developed the plan in consultation with the landscape/architect, City of Sydney Public Art Unit, Metropolitan and La Perouse Local Aboriginal Land Councils, and an Art Advisory Panel made up of the project’s key stakeholders.
The preparation of the SFS Public Art Plan is a condition of the development approval. The Plan synthesised the existing documents relating to public art at SFS, and progressed the preliminary approach into a developed plan for public art.
Topics covered in the plan included project background, curatorial framework, case studies, engagement, methodology for implementing the Public Art Plan, procurement model, artist selection criteria, artwork delivery, and project governance and management.
Cultural Capital identified stakeholders early in the process and produced a stakeholder engagement plan. This report established the engagement framework to achieve stakeholder support for the SFSR Public Art Plan. The report specified the frequency and type of communications, contact persons, and approvals required.
The Public Art Plan has been endorsed by the Art Advisory Panel and City of Sydney Public Art Unit.
